These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the bettercurrency app, website, support, subscriptions, and related services ("bettercurrency"). The service is provided by Silicon Island LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

By using bettercurrency, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use bettercurrency.

App Store Terms

If you download the bettercurrency app through Apple's App Store, your license to use the app is governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms also govern your use of our website, services, subscriptions, support, and related features.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Some features may require a paid subscription or in-app purchase. Prices, billing periods, trials, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled through the app marketplace where you purchased the subscription, unless we state otherwise. You are responsible for managing or canceling your subscription through that marketplace.

Age Requirements

The service is not intended for children under 13. If the law where you live requires you to be older to use bettercurrency, you may use it only if you meet that age requirement.

Exchange Rates and Conversion Results

The service provides exchange rates, conversions, camera-based price detection, OCR, translation, and related outputs for general informational purposes only. Rates may be delayed, cached, rounded, unavailable, incomplete, or sourced from third-party providers. They may differ from rates offered by banks, card networks, payment processors, merchants, exchanges, or financial institutions.

You should independently verify any exchange rate, price, currency, translation, or conversion result before relying on it for purchases, travel, business, tax, accounting, legal, financial, medical, safety, or other important decisions. The service does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, or professional advice.

Camera Conversion, OCR, and Translation

Camera conversion, OCR, currency detection, and translation features are best-effort tools. They may misread text, numbers, prices, decimal separators, currency symbols, languages, menus, signs, receipts, labels, or surrounding context. They may also infer the wrong currency or produce an incorrect conversion.

You are responsible for reviewing and confirming results before using them. We are not responsible for losses, costs, decisions, misunderstandings, purchases, or other consequences caused by inaccurate, delayed, incomplete, mistranslated, misread, or misunderstood results.

Our Content and Software

The bettercurrency app, website, software, designs, text, graphics, logos, data, and related content are owned by Silicon Island LLC or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property and other laws. These Terms give you permission to use bettercurrency for its intended purpose, but they do not transfer ownership or grant any rights not expressly stated in these Terms.

Acceptable Use

You may use bettercurrency only for lawful purposes. You may not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer the app or service except where legally permitted, scrape or overload our systems, or use bettercurrency in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

Third-Party Services

The service may rely on third-party services, marketplaces, data providers, AI/OCR/translation providers, analytics providers, hosting providers, and other vendors. We are not responsible for third-party services, data, availability, errors, or policies.

Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue bettercurrency or any feature at any time. We may update rates, data sources, supported currencies, subscription features, or app functionality without notice.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to bettercurrency if we reasonably believe you have misused the service, violated these Terms, created risk for us or others, or violated applicable law. You may stop using bettercurrency at any time.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Silicon Island LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Silicon Island LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, suppliers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business, or opportunity, arising from or related to bettercurrency or these Terms.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising from or related to bettercurrency or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to use bettercurrency in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you did not pay us during that period, our total liability will be USD $0, except where applicable law requires a different amount.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Silicon Island LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, suppliers, and licensors from and against any third-party claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees and court costs, to the extent arising from your misuse of bettercurrency, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or violation of another person's rights.

This indemnity does not apply to the extent a claim arises from our gross negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of law.

Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining Terms will remain in effect.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Puerto Rico, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Updates

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of bettercurrency after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
